Hey everyone, I'm Force10. I've been online in one form or another for a bit over 25 years so yeah, I'm probably old compared to some of you. :) I am childfree by choice and live in Southern California with my wife and two cats. I love gaming and Mexican food.

Actually, we have a surprising amount of "old" people here. I think this is mostly because the entire idea came from people who were old enough to remember the glory days before FB. I'm sure the young ones will show up when we go live though. At least, I hope they do.

You may have something there. I'm now an admin on the forum where we first met and I've seen lots of people disappear over the years and do FB only.

I'm old on the inside, does that count? Like I yell at clouds and kids these days not knowing what a flash drive is and... well I yell at a lot of things like a crotchety old dude. Does that count?
You don't have children and you have a cat. You count.

I'm certainly too old for all this crazy social media bullshit.

PS Frigg! I'm guessing there's no way to censor pictures? Just wondering.
Uh is there a picture that needs censoring? Seriously if you see one hit the Report button.

Personally I'd like to censor as little as possible, and only stuff that shuts down conversation.

I may or may not know what a flash drive is. :smirk:

Back to Force10 here...Mexican food?

What's your favorite?

I'm a sucker for chile rellenos con queso. Not battered and fried though. I want more chiles.

Were you online on bbses or Usenet?

Anything carne asada or seafood. There's a taco shop by my house that combines the best of both. They make a surf & turf burrito which has carne asada, shrimp, rice, lettuce, and fries inside, with some mayo based white sauce like you'd find on a fish taco. It's also about the size of my forearm. It's serious goodness.

Hi Force10! Glad to see you!

I can beat her in the old department. It's not like she programmed on a TTY using an acoustic coupler. ;)
I think I've got everyone beat in old tech: I've used punch cards, punch tape, magnetic tape and switch panels. Have you ever single-stepped a program via a toggle switch, looking at the binary codes in the registers on the front panel display? ;)

Re: Mexican food - I am so glad that my German city has caught up with something resembling real tex-mex. Way back when there was one restaurant in my town that claimed to serve Mexican food. Their "taco" was as thick as a pancake and tasted about the same. Now there's three restaurants and all do a decent job.

Haha this reminds of a Mexican place near Champaign-Urbana that my husband and his wargame crew always went to. Their specialty was a "burrito bigger than your head."
